Lynda Carter Releases Poppy, Fun, Sexy Single “Pink Slip Lollipop”

Lynda Carter, the iconic singer, advocate and actress known for her influential portrayal of Wonder Woman, Emmy-winning musical variety specials, and fierce commitment to defending democracy and rights for all, is releasing a cheeky, retro power-pop single today, encouraging fans not to settle for less in their romantic lives. “Pink Slip Lollipop” kicks off with an edgy beat and a catchy guitar riff, blending the pop sensibility and feminist anthems of Shania Twain with the high-energy party pop of the B-52s. The lyrics are fun and playful, with a touch of sass and attitude. This is a song that’s meant to be played loud and danced to like nobody’s watching, intentionally written to recreate the feeling of being at a party, surrounded by friends and good vibes while you kick that no-good ex to the curb. It was co-written with longtime collaborators John Barlow Jarvis and Kerry Marx and recorded in Nashville.

“Pink Slip Lollipop is about letting your hair down, having fun, and not taking yourself too seriously,” Carter said. “It’s about not getting tied down, whether it’s to a beau or a genre. A little bit of mystery is always sexy. I like to leave people wondering what I’m going to do next.”

Lynda plays with genre like clothes in her closet, and the pop vibe of “Pink Slip Lollipop” is a total 180 from her ethereal previous single  “Letters From Earth.” Despite the switch in tone, the new single should not be a surprise to those who admire Lynda, as the feminist icon has never held back on her convictions, never letting anyone walk all over her. Instead, she is happy to show transgressors the door in this raucous romp of a song.

“Pink Slip Lollipop” is available now on all major music platforms.
